Terminal-1 Information

Terminal-1 Tirupati Airport

There are two terminals to handle domestic and international flights. For 1.75 billion (US$23 million), a fully unified terminal known as Garuda Terminal was built next to the current domestic terminal in the space of 16,500 sq m (178,000 sq ft). It can carry 500 local and 200 international travelers at any given moment. Manmohan Singh, India's then-Prime Minister, laid the cornerstone stone in October 2010. There are 18 check-in desks, four passport countertops, and parking for 250 cars in the modern terminal.

The new terminal is equipped with modern facilities, including firefighting equipment and call points for emergencies. It also has an integrated baggage handling system that collects baggage from various airlines and sorts them automatically into different conveyor belts for different destinations. There are separate arrival and departure lounges for domestic and international passengers. This airport serves as a gateway to the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh and also caters to the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
