Tirupati International Airport (IATA: TIR; ICAO: VOTP), also known as Renigunta Airport, serves Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Located in Renigunta, just 16 km from the city centre and about 39 km from Tirumala’s Venkateswara Temple, it’s a vital entry point for pilgrims and tourists alike. Commissioned in 1971 and upgraded to international status in June 2017, the airport now features a modern integrated "Garuda" terminal, capable of handling 500 domestic and 200 international passengers simultaneously. The airport's Garuda terminal includes 18 check-in counters and 3 self-check-in kiosks to facilitate smooth departures. While Air India indicates there are no fixed counters for their operations at TIR, general check-in follows standard airport protocols.
