FAQ — Inter-Terminal / Terminal Transit at TIR

No. Tirupati Airport operates with an integrated terminal (Garuda), which handles both domestic and international operations under one building. There is currently no separate inter-terminal shuttle service.

The airport used to have older domestic and newer international or expansion structures which might look like separate terminals. But now the Garuda Integrated Terminal combines operations, making separate terminal transit unnecessary.

Since arrivals are on the ground floor and departures on the first level, you may need to use lifts or escalators. The walking distance is relatively short as it’s the same building. Allow 5-10 minutes depending on crowd and luggage.

In most cases, no—if your flights are under the same terminal operations. But always check your boarding pass and airline info. If you have an international to domestic connection or vice versa, ensure that immigration or customs requirements are clearly communicated.

Yes. There are lifts and ramps, and staff assistance is available at check-in or information desks. If mobility help is needed, request in advance from your airline or at the information counter.

Information desks (“May I Help You” counters) are located in the departure/check-in area, public concourse, and sometimes pre-security zones. They can guide travellers about gate locations, lounges, exits, and level changes.

It depends on your airline and ticketing. If both legs are on the same itinerary, often baggage is through-checked. If not, you may need to collect and re-check. Regardless, because both functions are housed within the same integrated terminal, you won’t need external inter-terminal transport.

As of now, no public announcement confirms construction of fully separate terminals or remote satellite gates at Tirupati that require shuttle services. All current development is part of the unified Garuda terminal.

Yes. Signage in the Garuda Terminal is designed to help passengers move between arrival & departure levels, restrooms, immigration, baggage claim etc. If unsure, staff and info desks help.
